Sardinia4Services, offers the possibility of discovering the Monte Nieddu massif, between Padru and San Teodoro, through an off-road excursion with Land Rover or Freelander 4×4, which without any effort will allow you to discover the most beautiful attractions of this mountain a stone’s throw from the sea. An intense but easy off-road day, discovering the “stazzo Pitrisconi” reaching the most secret corners of Monte Nieddu, fun and breathtaking views, with sites that hide the secrets of an ancient culture, along the roads and paths used by ancient charcoal burners and shepherds during the transhumance.
The day begins with a dirt road that goes up Monte Nieddu and its wonderful typical vegetation Holm oaks, Lentischi, Strawberry trees, Prickly pears, Lavender, Helichrysum and various essences typical of the Mediterranean scrub until reaching the Stazzo Pitrisconi.
From here, leaving the off-road vehicles, we will continue on foot. After a short walk of about 20 minutes, along a dirt path, we will wade across the Rio Pitrisconi, to reach the large 20-meter waterfall and its natural pools. These were formed inside large granite basins, so we will stop and those who want can bathe in the natural pools of this corner of paradise.
During the stop, a tasting of a typical Sardinian aperitif will be prepared, based on Pane Carasau, sausage, “pecorino” cheese, all accompanied by a good glass of red wine, strictly Cannonau di Sardegna, unless the customer, by prior agreement during the booking phase, prefers a real lunch in the farmhouse, based on, appetizer of cold cuts, suckling pig and roast potatoes, accompanied by a side dish of grilled vegetables, dessert with honey, always accompanied by a good red wine, strictly local, myrtle or limoncello.
After the tasting, the tour continues towards a spectacular panoramic point, the Pala di Monti lookout, 610 meters above sea level, where we will make another 30-minute stop. You can take photos and videos and enjoy, weather permitting, a spectacular panorama that includes the entire Monte Nieddu massif, the island of Tavolara and Molara, the entire coast that goes from Budoni to Porto San Paolo, the spectacular white beaches of Cinta, Lu Impostu, Cala Brandinchi and Capo Coda Cavallo, and the clear turquoise waters.
We will end the day at the foot of the mountain, in a Gallura farmhouse for a further tasting of jams, cheeses, cured meats and typical Sardinian liqueurs, such as Mirto, also with the possibility of purchasing.
Throughout the day, the guide, in the requested language, will give a detailed explanation of the history, traditions, uses and customs, flora and fauna of the places you will visit.
